Silk Stole 400K

This handwoven stole is also woven entirely of silk and has the border pattern called "Blooming Leaf" (which is an old traditional pattern that was used on coverlets).  This time I used black as the background and a golden-colored raw silk for the pattern.  The contrast is not as strong as the white-on-black piece but is more pronounced than the white-on-white one.

This shawl will be sure to get you noticed!  The softness of silk combined with the striking pattern is truly a one-of-a-kind.  You can wear it over your shoulders like a stole or, for a change, as a scarf, as you can see by looking at the pictures.

The dimensions of this stole are a generous 19" x 67" (48cm x 170cm) plus an additional 10" (25cm) of carefully hemstitched fringe for an even more luxurious drape.  The overshot pattern at each end of the stole measures 16" (40cm) in length.

As part of my finishing process, this piece has been gently hand-washed, wrapped in towels and pressed to remove as much water as possible, then hung on a line to dry.  After straightening the fringes, I ironed the wrinkles out.  Alternatively, you may have it dry-cleaned.
