1. How long does it take you to make one of these?

The time required varies with the type of weaving.  A hand towel can or a bath-mat-size rug will take two to three hours to weave plus another two to three hours to measure the yarns, setup the loom, and then hem and finish the piece.  A ruana can take around eight to ten hours.

A cape can take eight to twelve hours and a hooded ruana will take about 30 hours.  Whenever possible I try to put enough material on the loom so I can make multiple items.  That way, the setup time is spread over all the pieces from that warp.

2. Do you spin your own yarn, too?

No, I purchase the yarns already spun.

3. How do I clean this?

Each item comes with instructions for cleaning.  Part of my finishing process for each item is to wash it gently.

Some items like towels and rugs can be washed with the rest of your laundry.

4. What if I want a different color or fiber type?

I will be glad to work with you if you need a particular color or to suggest a suitable fiber choice.

5. What is the biggest rug you can make?

My loom will allow up to 48 inches wide to be woven.   The length of a bulky rug could be up to 16 feet.
